T R Freeman Showcase Their Expertise with the Completion of their Latest Roofing Project.

May 02 2019

Specialist roofing and cladding company, T R Freeman, is delighted to have completed the roofing element on a £10million state-of-the-art hospice, designed by Barefoot & Gilles Architects, for East Anglia Children’s Hospices (EACH) in Framingham Earl, Norfolk.

Offering a lifeline to children and families, EACH provides palliative care to hundreds of youngsters with life-limiting and life-threating conditions. The new building, known as ‘The nook’, will replace the current premises in Quidenham.

T R Freeman was appointed by the main contractor R G Carter to install FOAMGLAS® insulation and Falzinc to multiple roof areas with dark Falzinc Fascias and Soffits to tiled areas.

The ‘nook’ will include a far larger care area than that provided at their current home in Quidenham. It will have activity areas for arts, crafts and play, a hydrotherapy pool, a state-of-the-art sensory room, dedicated therapy rooms and a music studio. In addition, it will provide more space for clinical care and improved medical and nursing equipment, a large outside space and specialist quiet haven area for families.

Gary Webb, Director, T R Freeman said: “We are privileged to be awarded the contract for such an important building and we're proud to bring our experience and expertise to the development.” He continued “Talking from a roofing perspective, Fazinc combines the advantages of aluminium with the unmistakable aesthetics of pre-weathered zinc. It’s an excellent choice for a building of this nature and will provide extended durability across the life span of the building.”

The final touches are now being applied to the nook, which is due to complete later in the year.
