Local Company Wins Roofing Contract for New Arthur Rank Hospice
September 30 2015
Cambridge based T R Freeman Limited has been awarded the contract, by main contractor Barnes Construction, to install the roofing elements on the new Arthur Rank Hospice at Shelford Bottom.
Consisting of four buildings with varying roof forms, the hospice has been designed by LSI Architects to fit sympathetically with the surrounding landscape. T R Freeman’s design team are kicking off the project by preparing working drawings to ensure the architect’s roof designs are realised to their full potential. The onsite team will then carry out the roof installation in co-ordination with the overall site programme.
Rheinzink Blue Grey, a traditional architectural metal roofing system formulated from zinc, is being used for the roof areas, fascias, verges and rainwater goods, all of which will be installed by T R Freeman. Admaster insulated composite panels will be affixed to purlins as the base for the zinc roofs.
Gary Webb, MD for T R Freeman said “As a local company, we’re delighted to be appointed to the new Arthur Rank Hospice and to be able to help shape the charity’s future with our work on this project.” “Talking from a roofing perspective” he added, “zinc is maintenance-free, durable and sustainable so it’s an excellent choice for a building of this nature and will make a lasting contribution to its long life.”
