September 14 2017
T R Freeman have recently completed the roofing contract for the brand-new, state-of-the-art Littleport academy.
Awarded the contract by main contractor Morgan Sindall, the roofing installation was for the Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Early year’s buildings of the development.
Following the completion of design development drawings, ensuring the architects’ vision was realised, T R Freeman installed a Kalzip roof with PPC fascias and soffits, insulation, acoustic insulation and vapour control layers to both buildings. Insulated gutters were also installed to the SEN building.
The SEN school will initially cater for 110 pupils and includes a hydrotherapy pool for swimming therapy programmes, whilst the early year’s school will cater for 52 young children.
Gary Webb, Pre-Construction director said “It has been really exciting to see this project take shape and come to life. Being chosen to undertake the roofing element of the SEN and Early Years part of the development reflects on our experience and expertise within the industry, specifically the education sector.” He continued “The roof uses Kalzip throughout which helped with a timely installation and will provide long-term durability and ease of future maintenance”
The development, which is part of a £37.5 million school and leisure complex, will be finalised for the new school term in September 2017.
