T R Freeman Start Work on Student Accommodation

November 09 2018

T R Freeman has started work on three new postgraduate houses on Storey’s Way, Cambridge for Churchill College.

Selected to install the copper roofs, underlay, insulation, vapour barrier to the 3 buildings by main contractor, Barnes Construction, T R Freeman will be calling upon their experience with the use of such metal on similar projects.

The houses are positioned on a site adjoining accommodation completed in early 2000 and their design is reflective of this and draws upon the Arts and Crafts character of Storeys Way.

The buildings will include 30 en-suite student rooms 6 communal kitchens, 5 self-contained flats and associated support spaces.

Gary Webb, Director, T R Freeman said “these striking buildings have been designed to provide much-needed postgraduate accommodation for Churchill College.  They will be in keeping with the existing buildings in the area, and their design certainly represents this area of Cambridge” he continued “We will be installing copper roofing which is extremely strong and durable as well as having a stunning appearance”

The project is due to complete in Spring 2019
