T R Freeman selected for third phase of award winning Accordia
Architectural metal roofing and cladding company T R Freeman has been awarded the third phase of an award winning housing development.
The company has already completed on the first two phases of Accordia in Cambridge.
And that work helped the development win the RIBA Stirling prize, Britain’s premier architectural award, this time last year.
The work for Redeham Homes will see T R Freeman install an additional £200,000 of copper cladding.
Work has already started on site.
Managing director Gary Webb said: “We have always thought of Accordia as a very special development, right from the very beginning.
“When it won the RIBA Stirling prize in 2008 that confirmed what we knew. We’re now delighted to be working on the third phase of the project, after successfully completing the first two phases.”
T R Freeman Ltd was formed more than 120 years ago and is now part of the well-known Kershaw Group.
The group employs 183 people with a turnover of £40 million.
It is heavily involved in the local community, including a record-breaking 10 year sponsorship of Cambridge United’s away shirts.
