Roofing company wins £230k of new contracts with schools

Architectural metal roofing and cladding company T R Freeman is celebrating winning four new educational contracts.

The work for the Cambridge-based company includes a project for its brand new single ply division.

Gary Webb, the managing director of T R Freeman, said: “It was a busy year for us last year and we’re pleased to have a number of educational projects to work on now.

“T R Freeman has worked on a large number of school projects over the years. It’s definitely a speciality of the business.”

The orders include:

• Broomwood Hall, London: Stainless steel roof extension to existing school for contractor Durtnell, worth £60,000

• Samworth Academy, Mansfield: £80,000 of zinc cladding to the roof for this new school, being constructed by Kier Marriott

• Stowe School, Buckinghamshire: Single ply membrane and zinc cladding in a £60,000 contract for main contractor Kingerlee

• Wickford Collaborative Learning Centre, Essex: For Wilmott Dixon, £30,000 of zinc cladding at this new school

T R Freeman Ltd was formed more than 120 years ago and is now part of the well-known Kershaw Group.

The group employs 183 people with a turnover of £35 million.

It is heavily involved in the local community, including a record-breaking 10 year sponsorship of Cambridge United’s away shirts.
