T R Freeman picked for four more schools projects worth £250,000+

Education construction specialist T R Freeman has announced another four contracts with schools around the UK.

The architectural metal roofing and cladding company has a great track record for its educational work.

In 2010 alone it worked on five education projects, including Peterborough Regional College and UEA Norwich.

The new projects announced today include a new school, a school extension, and 3 new chimney towers being constructed.

“As education specialists we are delighted to continue to win high profile projects,” said Gary Webb, the managing director of T R Freeman.

“School and college projects often have tighter, more unbreakable deadlines than other projects. We understand that and focus all of our team and resources on delivering on time and on budget.”

The new education contracts are:

• A £170,000 contract to fit a Kalzip roof to the new Pioneer School extension in Basildon, for contractors Bansal Building

• A £40,000 Speedeck roof on the sports hall extension to Netherhall School in Cambridge, for Willmott Dixon

• A £25,000 zinc cladding project for the independent St Faith’s School in Cambridge. An extension is being constructed by contractors Haymills

• Kalzip roofs for three chimney towers at Chase High School in Southend-on-Sea. The £25k job is for contractor Kier. T R Freeman’s sister company Kershaw Mechanical Services is also working on this project

T R Freeman Ltd was formed more than 120 years ago and is now part of the well-known Kershaw Group.

The group employs just under 200 people with a turnover in excess of £35 million.

It is heavily involved in the local community, including a record-breaking 10 year sponsorship of Cambridge United’s away shirts.
