T R Freeman wins two contracts from Haymills

Metal roofing and cladding company T R Freeman has won two new contracts from Haymills.

In the first, the Cambridge-based company is fitting a £200,000 zinc roof to the racing headquarters at Dalham Stud in Newmarket.

And it’s also fitting a £50,000 copper roof to the New Court building at Clare College in Cambridge.

Gary Webb, managing director of T R Freeman, said: “We have worked on a number of contracts with Haymills over the last few years, and are looking forward to working on these two new projects with them.”

The new HQ at Dalham Hall Stud is the new UK racing headquarters for Sheikh Mohammed.

The large modern building has a crescent shaped roof which is to be clad in pre weathered zinc. There is also a large conical roof light which is also to be clad in zinc and will form the focal point of the main entrance.

Meantime, the improvements at Clare College are the construction of a study centre and student accommodation. The project will provide a new basement lecture theatre and meeting rooms. The external elevations at roof level are to be clad in a bespoke Tecu Brass interlocking panel system together with matching Tecu Brass louvres.

T R Freeman has been in Cambridge since being formed 120 years ago and is part of the Kershaw Group.

The group employs 183 people with a turnover of £35 million. It’s heavily involved in the local community, including a sponsorship of Cambridge United’s away shirts.

Haymills was founded in 1911 and is a privately owned company with divisions across the UK.
