T R Freeman wins work for new education project in Hertfordshire

Expert Cambridge metal roofing and cladding firm T R Freeman has secured the order for a major education project in Hertfordshire.

The firm will construct the roof for the redevelopment of Hertford Regional College’s Ware campus.

It is heavily involved in the design and will be installing a traditional standing seam Falzinc roof and rainwater system in a contract worth more than half a million pounds.

The construction also comprises of a composite panel substrate together with single ply and Bauder membranes to various terrace areas.

T R Freeman is sub contracting for Morgan Ashurst.

Gary Webb, managing director of T R Freeman, said: “We have gained significant experience in the education sector over the last few years and are excited about this new project.”

The 100,000 sq ft area will see a grade 2 listed building being retained, and the existing outdated 1960s teaching accommodation replaced by three pavilions linked by glazed atriums.

The development is due to be completed by the start of the 2010 academic year.

T R Freeman has huge experience in the education sector, having completed a number of projects for Cambridge University over the last few years.

The firm has been in Cambridge since being formed 120 years ago and is part of the Kershaw Group, sponsors of Cambridge United’s away shirts.
