Stunning summer brings £500k of contracts for roofing company
Architectural metal roofing and cladding company T R Freeman is celebrating a stunning summer, with news it has signed half a million pounds worth of new contracts.
The Cambridge company, based near Cambridge United, has five new contract wins.
They include a £150,000 new roof on a youth centre, and a new roof for a shopping centre.
The contracts also include the first order for a new division set up by the company to supply single ply roofing.
Gary Webb is the managing director of T R Freeman.
He said: “The weather has been hit and miss this summer but that hasn’t affected our order book.
“We’re going to have a very positive autumn with these new orders. We are also celebrating a very strong start to our new division.”
The orders include:
• Harris Academy, Dulwich: £140,000 of zinc cladding, starting the end of September 2009. Contractor is Galliford Try
• Shoeburyness Youth Centre, Southend-on-Sea: A new elliptical curved Kalzip roof with vertical cladding, single ply membrane and green roof areas. Contractor is Mansells. Work starts end of October 2009 and is worth about £150,000
• Bircherley Court, Hertford: For Hill Partnerships, zinc roofing starting October 2009. The project has a value of about £150,000
• Lion Walk, Colchester: A traditional copper cladding roof for this shopping centre. The contractor is ISG Jacksons. Starts end of September
• Chichester Theatre: Single ply membrane roof areas for Linden Group. Work has already started and is worth about £20,000
T R Freeman Ltd was formed more than 120 years ago and is now part of the well-known Kershaw Group.
The group employs 183 people with a turnover of £35 million.
It is heavily involved in the local community, including a record-breaking 10 year sponsorship of Cambridge United’s away shirts.
