When a roof condition report on the Quicksilver Patrol
Base in London highlighted that the roof integrity was compromised due to high levels of ponding standing water and leakage in the main roof area, T R Freeman was appointed to carry out a full refurbishment.
On inspection of the 2200ms roof, it was identified that the roof was holding water in various areas and over the years numerous attempts had been carried out to rectify the problems. The existing Georgian wire roof lights were in a bad condition had to be replaced.
T R Freeman and Alumasc designed a Euro roof Supa40 Single Point system with a 25-year warranty. It included a cut to fall insulation system and integral gutters to ensure all the ponding areas would drain away to the existing rainwater outlets.
T R Freeman stripped the felt and insulation back to the existing metal deck, and as the building was still in operation, they had to strip out an area and make it watertight with an Alumasc vapour barrier each day so as not to allow water into the building.
The bespoke PU bonded PIR Insulation cut to fall system and gutters were then installed along with SUPA XL underlay and finally the Euroroof SupaGOLD cap sheet.
On completion of the roof system, new twin skinned roof light was installed over the refurbished kerbs to complete the Alumasc Supa40 Single Point 25 year Warranted system.
