Hot Melt Waterproofing
When a client requires monolithic waterproofing membranes, more commonly referred to as “hot melt waterproofing”, we are approved installers for marketing leading manufacturers Flag-Soprema and Alumasc. Hot melt water proofing combines long life expectancy with very high performance.
The hot melt system is a hot-applied, synthetic, modified bitumen designed for waterproofing flat surfaces, with no falls, which go under inverted ballasted roofs, extensive or intensive green and brown roofs, substructures, podium decks and paved terraces. It is also used for water feature schemes. These systems are formulated and designed to last the life time of the building, and have the ability to self-seal due to the flexibility of the product. They are suitable for heavily trafficked roofs.
The hot melt is a seamless system, applied directly to the primed deck, which carries no risk of water tracking back below the membrane. It is capable of dealing with all types of penetration found in modern buildings, as it can flow into the tightest of corners, such as I beams and steel fixing bolts. Once applied, the system is unaffected by standing water, snow or frost and can take traffic immediately.
Installed hot melt systems have a minimum manufacturer's warranty of 20 years.
